Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz admitted she wanted to look and feel her best after her husband, Kristopher Karolkiewicz, cheated on her with an intern in a personal Reddit post shared two years before he killed her and their six kids in a murder-suicide.
“I was five babies in, and was actually not in bad physical shape, but I was in the trenches of little kids, and just couldn’t be who I was before,” Mandy, 39, wrote about Kristopher’s affair in a 2024 Reddit post.
She admitted that the affair made her feel insecure, so she spent Kristopher’s work bonus to get Botox, an Invisalign, hair extensions and new clothes for herself in order to make herself feel “pretty.”
Mandy went on to share that she “lost tons of weight during the aftermath” of the affair, but admitted she “never felt better” and “still internally blamed myself for not being ‘enough’ of what he wanted.’”
After Mandy learned about Kristopher’s infidelity, she said they both started attending individual therapy and marriage counseling. While it’s not exactly clear when the affair ended, she admitted she was still upset with the other woman in 2024.
“Forgiveness took me years,” she wrote about her attitude toward her husband. “To be honest, I haven’t forgiven [her] 4.5 years later. I hate her with every fiber of my being and she should be worried if she ever ended up in the same room as me.”
She added that it was “frustrating to feel like someone who caused so much trauma in your life is getting off scot-free.” Mandy then said she wished she “could witness her pain and see some karma hit her hard.”
Mandy then said that she was still “triggered” by the “trauma” that the affair caused.
She then said that she forced Kristopher to quit his job as “karma” for the affair.
“I couldn’t even start healing until I felt that I saw him recieve [sic] some negative karma. He ended up being let go from a company, was unemployed for six months, then got a new job that wasn’t that great, and was then laid off again nine months later,” she wrote.
She said that she “watched his ego FINALLY break” and they worked together to find him a new job until he “finally landed” the “best career he’s ever had.”
“I finally feel like he experienced consequences from his choices,” she wrote.
Us previously reported that Kristopher, Mandy and their six children died inside of their Grand Haven Township, Michigan, home on the morning of Friday, July 24. Authorities confirmed that Kristopher shot Amanda and the children before he set the home on fire as part of an apparent murder-suicide.
Police confirmed that there are no other suspects in the case.
