NBA star Anthony Edwards’ ex Ayesha Howard accused him of dragging out their court battle after allegedly agreeing to give her sole custody, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On June 25, Howard filed a declaration as part of her lawsuit against the Minnesota Timberwolves star over their daughter, Aubri, claiming, in part, that Edwards’ legal actions have caused her “financial harm.”

Last year, a DNA test determined Edwards was the father of the baby girl, born in October 2024. Howard filed a lawsuit against Edwards in California for paternity and child support. The NBA star filed a separate lawsuit in Georgia.

Edwards did not think Howard actually moved to California and said he believed she filed in Los Angeles in hopes of scoring a higher child support award. Howard denied his claims and said she moved to L.A. months before their daughter’s birth.

In court documents, Edwards made it clear he was not seeking custody or visitation of his daughter. He said the only issue that needed to be determined was support.

Earlier this year, the judge presiding over Howard’s case in L.A. determined that child support should be set in Georgia. However, he said the custody order could potentially be established in L.A.

NBA star Anthony Edwards and influencer Ayesha Howard welcomed a daughter together in October 2024 — but their tumultuous relationship has mostly played out in the courtroom. Edwards, 23, and Howard share daughter Aubri Summers, whose paternity and custody has been hotly-contested points of debate for the exes.  In April 2025, Howard was granted temporary […]

At a hearing on May 19, the parties went back and forth on the issues. At one point, Ayesha asked the judge, “Being that he is not seeking visitation or custody, why does he even — why is — does it matter where my child is. It’s not like, ‘Oh I have to come visit her in California.’”

Edwards’ lawyer argued for the custody to be set in Georgia. He said, “Because right now, today, [Edwards] is not requesting custody. I don’t know what happens over the next 18 years.”

NBA star Anthony Edwards filed a response to Ayesha Howard’s request for sole custody of their newborn daughter amid their ongoing paternity saga. Howard, 38, filed new court documents on March 11, calling herself a “fit and loving mother” as she requested sole legal and physical custody, care and control of the pair’s child, who […]

Later, Howard told the court, “As far as child support goes, I mean, as far as child custody goes, Anthony does not want anything to do with my child. He has expressed that. He has shown that. I haven’t seen him. [Aubri] hasn’t seen him — never. So, I mean, whether custody was honestly here or in Mars, I don’t think it would inconvenience him or matter at all.”

In her recent motion, Howard claimed that a couple of days after the hearing, Edwards and his team agreed to give her sole physical and legal custody of their daughter.

She attached the proposed judgment, allegedly sent by Edwards’ team, which granted her sole custody. The proposal also contained a provision prohibiting each party from talking about the other on social media or publicly.

Howard said she asked that Edwards’ lawyer remove certain provisions from the deal, but they have been dragging their feet.

Amid ongoing legal drama with NBA star Anthony Edwards, Ayesha Howard is setting the record straight on rumors about her past.  Howard was granted temporary sole physical and legal custody of 6-month-old daughter Aubri Summers, whom she shares with Edwards, 23, on Monday, April 7. Later that evening, Howard participated in a Q&A with her […]

In her motion, she accused Edwards’ team of violating the court’s directive and engaging in “bad faith delay tactics,” which have caused her “unnecessary financial harm.”

Specifically, she said they have refused to submit the proposed judgment awarding her sole custody. She said the Georgia court won’t rule on child support until a custody judgment is entered.

Howard said this has caused her daughter to be left “unsupported by her father for an extended period of time.”

Edwards has yet to respond.
