A crew night out on Below Deck took a shocking turn when Chef Moe Vilomar got ready to get into a physical altercation with aggressive strangers.
In a preview for the Monday, October 2, episode of the Bravo show, the group is enjoying their time off of Azul V when a group of men approach them. An argument ensued when Moe took off his belt in an apparent plan to escalate the situation.
Season 13 has Captain Kerry Titheradge and Fraser Olender joined by alum Rainbeau de Roos. New crew members Chef Moe, Bosun Alex Wright, deckhands James Bishop, Matthew Fitzpatrick-Buck and Jessenia Stidger and stews Kaylee Brown and Rosa Simms-Preston are also introduced.
Before the season premiered, Kerry spoke to Us about how the series will include surprise changes.
“This season, we’re going to have some changes that I don’t think we’ve ever seen on Below Deck before,” Kerry exclusively told Us. “There’s definitely some changes. There’s gonna be some decisions made that maybe I may have to rethink — if I could rethink again — which way I went with.”
The captain was looking forward to seeing how it would play out on screen.
“I’m excited to look back on myself and see how I manage the boat with hindsight in mind,” he noted. “I’m already seeing things in the first episode that I had no idea about. So off the bat, there’s already things that I’m excited to see myself.”
Kerry continued: “This season, for me, it was such a different and unique part of the world. The Caribbean is lovely. I also did Norway, which was very exciting. But going into Thailand, it was a totally different experience. I really wanted to feel the place and they call it ‘the country of smiles,’ and the energy that you get from that country, it just reverberates for everybody. Everything comes from the top, right? So if I’m stressed and wound up and micromanaging and just not happy to be around, it kind of filters through the whole crew.”
At the time, Kerry also teased Chef Moe’s dynamic with the rest of the cast.
“We’re definitely going to start off in a very good place. That’s for sure. Everyone starts off great,” he teased. “It is like anyone their first week of work, right? It is great to have Moe on board. Moe is like a teddy bear but he turns into a grizzly bear at some point, but he’s so refreshing and he’s so relaxed.”
Below Deck airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
