A mother-in-law has come under fire after sharing the outfit she planned to wear to her son’s wedding.

Bride-to-be Deanna said her husband had asked to see the dress his mother had bought for the event while on a shopping trip with her sister.

“She said, ‘It’s a surprise,’ and he replied, ‘No, only Deanna’s dress is a surprise,’” Deanna explained.

She obliged and showed him photos of the dress – a white lace gown with floral details and a deep V-neck.

The groom-to-be told his mom, “You’re not wearing this,” as it was clearly white (before quickly sending himself the photos to show Deanna later).

However, his mother insisted it was actually pink and said she had already ordered the dress and even paid a deposit.

He replied that it definitely “looked white” and told her again firmly she wasn’t to wear it.

“He made her call the store in front of him, and he heard her trying to cancel the order on the phone,” she continued. “He was stern with her about it.”

Deanna said it “grinded her gears” that her mother-in-law didn’t even know what her dress was going to look like, so for all she knew, they might have ended up with the same dress.

She even said that her mother-in-law had found the dress at a wedding dress shop.

“It said ‘I found the one’ on a decal in the back of one of the photos,” Deanna laughed.

“It is interesting behavior for sure. It’s a wedding gown, not a wedding guest dress that’s white.”

A few days later, the mother-in-law went back to the bridal store to use the credit for the canceled dress – and found a navy dress.

“We’re so confused at the switch-up. It’s as if she went into the store one day and said, ‘Hey, I’m a bride today,’ and then went into the store the next day and said, ‘I’m the mother-of-the-groom today,’” she explained.

To avoid any confrontation or surprises on the wedding day, Deanna contacted the store to confirm that the white lace gown had been canceled and that her mother-in-law had ordered a new navy dress.

Her video showing the dress has now gone viral, racking up over 25 million views.

“She’s cosplaying marrying her son? I’m confused,” said one commenter.

“I bet in her mind, it’s ‘her’ wedding,” said someone else.

‘’I need to know what bridal shop would literally sell this to a mother of the bride,’’ a third viewer said in disbelief.
