Channing Tatum is clearing up rumors that he and Jax Taylor were once roommates before they both moved to Hollywood.

“Channing, since I have you, I need to ask you an unsolved mystery that I’ve wanted to ask you for many years,” Andy Cohen asked Tatum, 45, during the actor’s Monday, October 6, appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “Your name has come up several times on a little broadcast television show called Vanderpump Rules. Now, were you the roommate of someone called Jax on Vanderpump Rules?”

Tatum replied, “Absolutely not.”

Cohen then asked the Roof Man actor if he ever lived with Taylor (real name is Jason Cauchi) or fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Tom Sandoval.

“There’s someone called Jason Cauchi on Vanderpump Rules — who now goes by Jax — who said that in the day when you were both young models, he was a roommate of yours,” the Bravo executive explained. “Any recollection of this?”

While Tatum didn’t recognize the name, he shared that maybe if he saw a photo of Taylor, it would jog his memory.

“Sometimes they’ll throw you in a model house, that has just, like, a bed,” Tatum said before revealing he “got kicked out” of his first model house after getting into a “fight with one of the guys.”

Cohen then found an old picture of Taylor and asked Tatum if he “looked familiar.”

“All models look the same kind of, so he is a good-looking guy,” he said. “If he was repped by Jason Canner, then I probably would’ve met him, but I don’t think I ever roomed with him.”

Taylor first claimed that he and Tatum bunked together during a 2013 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

“He was my first roommate in New York when I first started modeling,” Taylor said of Tatum at the time.

A decade later, Taylor shared more details about his alleged time with Tatum and how they were both signed to the same modeling agency.

“This was around 2002, and those agencies had apartments for models that were coming into town,” The Valley star told Rolling Stone in May 2023. “They’re basically like dorm rooms with bunkbeds. A tiny room with bunk beds and a bathroom. Channing was one of six guys in our room.”

Taylor claimed that Tatum was not there for long — the then-model left shortly after he scored his first major commercial.

“Now, he got famous real quick. He did this Mountain Dew commercial where he flipped a car,” he added. “Once he got that job, he took off.”

Tatum’s career did take off after he landed the soda commercial. Following his work on the ad, Tatum was cast in his breakout role in She’s the Man, where he starred alongside Amanda Bynes. Bynes previously stated that she saw Tatum’s Mountain Dew ad and advocated for him to get the role.

“I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie because he wasn’t famous yet,” the actress told Paper Magazine in November 2018. “He’d just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’ But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!’”
