Claudia Sulewski’s Engagement Ring From Billie Eilish’s Brother Finneas: The Cut, Cost, Carats and More

Music producer Finneas O’Connell popped the question to his longtime love, Claudia Sulewski, after seven years of dating — and Us Weekly has all the details about her dazzling sparkler.

The couple announced their engagement via Instagram on Wednesday, September 24, shortly after they celebrated the milestone moment. “Forever and ever 9.22,” their caption read, including PDA-filled snaps and a close-up shot of her stunning new bling.

“This ring perfectly captures today’s trend of pairing a unique stone with a simple yet unique setting,” Kristy Cullinane, cofounder and diamond jewelry expert at Plum Diamonds, tells Us.

Cullinane noted that Sulewski’s ring features an elongated antique cushion-cut diamond, set in a beautiful platinum compass setting with prongs positioned at the top, bottom, and sides, rather than at each corner, “evoking a timeless and elegant design.”

She speculated the center stone is approximately 6 to 7 carats and would potentially retail for approximately $350,000 to $500,000. The jewelry expert noted that a lab-diamond would retail between $10,000 to $12,000.

Sulewski and O’Connell’s heartwarming social media post included several snaps from the romantic sunset proposal, including a clip of their helicopter ride to the location he got down on one knee as well as a video of them savoring the unforgettable night by the fire.

The chart-topping musician — also known for being Billie Eilish‘s brother — began his romance with the YouTube personality in 2018 after meeting on a dating app.

Eilish, of course, was over the moon to be gaining a sister-in-law. She took to social media with a snapshot of herself on FaceTime with the couple, gasping as Sulewski, 29, showed off her new engagement ring with a smile on her face. Eilish, 23, captioned it with three heart hands emojis.

Prior to proposing, O’Connell, 28, revealed that he wrote the song “Claudia” within hours of getting to know his future bride, telling BuzzFeed in 2019 that he sent her parts of the track.

“I think you’re gonna change my plans / With those emerald eyes / But you don’t even understand / How much they’re on my mind,” he gushed in the lyrics.

Sulewski has been a huge supporter of his career, even accompanying her then-boyfriend to the 2020 Grammys for his big night.

Although O’Connell told Us that he wasn’t quite ready to take the next step that same year, both of them were excited to be spending more time together.

“I think moving together was such a fun and great step, and adopting a dog,” Sulewski explained to Us while promoting the duo’s “We Bought a House with Claudia Sulewski and Finneas” podcast in May 2020. “We’re so happy to be doing those things.”

O’Connell also noted that having “uninterrupted” time with his leading lady during the pandemic gave them a “really good avenue” to build upon their relationship.

“Claudia has been a huge influence on my music in terms of just, like, how important she is to my life,” he said at the time. “I think I’ve always tended to write about my true real life experiences and she’s definitely at the core of all of that. So there’s a lot of songs about Claudia.”
