Tyler Robinson confessed to his trans boyfriend in a series of text messages that he killed Charlie Kirk, but the beau never alerted the police, Utah prosecutors alleged on Tuesday.

Prosecutors released a chilling exchange between the accused gunman and his live-in partner, Lance Twiggs, in which Robinson, 22, admitted to carrying out the assassination, said where he stashed the murder weapon, and told Twiggs to keep quiet.

The release of the messages has sparked questions about whether Twiggs could face arrest for not coming forward with what he knew.

Twiggs — who is transitioning to female — received the messages from Robinson just hours after the killing on Sept. 10 but the boyfriend didn’t tell cops. And investigators weren’t able to track Robinson down until a least a day after he fessed up to Twiggs, according to prosecutors.

Twiggs has not been charged, and authorities have said he is fully cooperating with authorities.

Legal expert Neama Rahmani told The Post from what we know so far about Twiggs’ actions, he hasn’t committed any crimes by simply not reporting what he knew.

“There is generally no duty to report a crime,” said Rahmani, a former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. “Now, obviously, people can be charged as co-conspirators, accessories, principals, aiders and abetters. But, just knowing that a crime has been committed — even murder — is not sufficient to hold someone criminally liable.”

Prosecutors would have to believe that Twiggs helped Robinson commit the crime or cover it up in order for him to be charged alongside the alleged gunman, Rahmani explained.

Law enforcement could get someone after the fact by charging them with crimes like obstruction of justice, harboring a fugitive or accessory after the fact, including for lying to cops, or for hiding or destroying evidence, Rahmani said.

“If you lie to law enforcement that’s obstruction, no question. But [Twiggs] is reportedly cooperating,” the lawyer said.

“At the moment we don’t know of anything,” illegal that Twiggs did, Rahmani said. “But again if there is something we don’t know about – lying, hiding, or destroying – then absolutely,” Twiggs could face charges.

“You need to do something affirmatively to help the suspect or to destroy the evidence,” the lawyer said.

Prosecutors Tuesday laid out the lengthy text exchanged between the lovers in a newly released criminal information laying out Robinson’s alleged crimes.

Robinson texted Twiggs on Sept. 10 saying: “Drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.”

Then Twiggs found a note from Robinson that said: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”

Twiggs responds with disbelief and asks if his boyfriend was joking before eventually asking, “You weren’t the one who did it right???”

“I am, I’m sorry,” Robinson responded.

Twiggs then went on to ask Robinson why he did it and the beau responded that he “had enough of [Kirk’s] hatred.”

Robinson said he left the rifle he used in the bushes and that he meant to go back and get it but the cops had swarmed the area. He also expressed concern that his dad would be mad at him for not returning his grandfather’s gun which had an pricey scope on it.

“You are all I worry about love,” Robinson wrote at one point to Twiggs, who responded: “I’m much more worried about you.”

Robinson then told Twiggs to “delete this exchange” and told him not to speak to the press.

“If any police ask you questions as for a lawyer and stay silent,” Robinson instructed Twiggs, who appeared to not have heeded the warning.

Robinson is accused of killing the 31-year-old conservative activist at Utah Valley University as he was hosting the first stop on his American Comeback Tour.

Kirk, a rising MAGA star, is survived by his wife and two young children. A memorial service is scheduled for Sept. 21 and President Trump has said he plans to attend.

Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, tampering with a witness and violent offense committed in the presence of a child.
