Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett Seemingly Confirm New Romance While Celebrating Pride 2025

Elliot Page is seemingly debuting a new romance with Julia Shiplett.

In a Saturday, June 28, Instagram post, Page gave a smile for the camera while posing for a selfie with Shiplett, both 38. The pair placed their heads close together as they matched in black jackets and sunglasses while standing in the middle of a street with a rainbow visible down the center.

Page simply captioned the post with a rainbow emoji and a heart emoji. Shiplett appeared to confirm the relationship in a since-expired Instagram Story on Saturday, where Page stood shirtless in a hot spring.

“Happy prideee 💦😮‍💨,” the Overcompensating star captioned the clip of Page walking through the water, per People.

Us Weekly reached out to Page and Shiplett’s reps for comment.

The pair’s apparent romance comes over a decade after Page came out as gay in 2014. Three years later, the Juno star sparked a romance with Emma Portner in July 2017. The twosome announced their surprise marriage less than one year later in January 2018.

Two years later, Page shared that he identifies as transgender. “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life,” he wrote via Instagram in December 2020. “I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”

Portner, now 30, shared a message of support for Page at the time.

“I am so proud of @elliotpage. Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world,” Portner wrote via Instagram. “I also ask for patience & privacy but that you join me in the fervent support of trans life every single day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in and of itself. Shine on sweet E. Love you so much.”

Us confirmed less than a month later that Page filed to divorce Portner. The duo later revealed that they had quietly separated the previous year.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer,” they said in a joint January 2021 statement. “We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.”
