Emma Slater and Ex-Husband Sasha Farber Share Hug Behind the Scenes of ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Exes Emma Slater and Sasha Farber shared a hug behind the scenes of Dancing With the Stars. 

The dance pros, who divorced in 2023, embraced backstage during the Tuesday, September 23, episode of the ABC show, where Slater is paired with comedian Andy Richter. (While Farber is sitting out this season as a pro, he remains involved hosting the show’s social-media coverage.)

On Tuesday, a fan took to TikTok and shared footage of Slater, 36, and Farber, 41, reuniting off the dance floor. Post-embrace, a smiling Farber told Slater that her mail was sent to his house. 

“Slightly awkward moment between Emma and ex, Sasha??” the TikToker asked, inviting a litany of responses.

“I did not find this awkward at all,” said one fan, adding, “I was actually relieved to see that they are so friendly with each other still.”

Another replied, “They were together since 2011, they’ll always have a huge part of their lives be each other!”

Farber’s romance with Slater began that year, and minus a months-long breakup circa 2014, they were a Dancing With the Stars power duo for more than a decade. Farber proposed to Slater during a 2016 episode and the pair said “I do” two years later. After nearly four years of marriage, they went their separate ways.

Slater officially filed for divorce in February 2023, citing irreconcilable differences, and broke her silence about the split several months later. 

“We’re still like family, so it isn’t really like the love is not there, it’s actually not that at all,” Slater revealed in an appearance on the “Viall Files” podcast. “We’re just at potentially two different places. But the hard part was that the love actually didn’t go [away].”

At the time, she explained, “It’s really the kid thing. It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because I know that he is ready for that. I don’t want to talk about him too much because that’s really for him to say, but it’s about kids.”

Both parties have since moved on to dating other people. 

In October 2024, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Slater was “hooking up” with fellow Dancing With the Stars pro Alan Bersten. The couple later shared an onstage kiss during the 2025 DWTS Live Tour.

As for Farber, he dated Jenn Tran after being paired with her on the show. Us confirmed in June that they had broken up after one year of dating.
