Over the influence.

A California woman has stirred public indignation over her encounter with an “entitled” influencer who demanded payment to post a photo of the two together.

In a recent TikTok post, Caraline Catlett shared that she “has not stopped thinking” about her run-in with the unnamed influencer.

“I know that there are a lot of influencers that live in San Diego, LA, everywhere in between, but never in my life have I seen one out in the wild — until last night,” Catlett began her tale of woe.

Catlett shared that she saw an influencer she has long been obsessed with and approached her, bearing compliments.

“I go up to her, and I was like, you are the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my life,” she said.

According to Catlett, the nonplussed internet personality gave her a weak “thanks” with a “standoffish” demeanor.

Despite the frosty reception, Catlett — who boasts 193,000 followers of her own — asked the influencer’s advice on how to grow her brand.

“She’s like: ‘I’m attractive. People follow me because I’m attractive,’” Catlett reported.

Things really took a turn when Catlett asked to take a photo with the woman.

“She said, ‘If I take a picture with you, you can’t post it without paying me. I don’t let people capitalize off my face or grow off my face. There’s not enough room in this industry for everyone,’” Catlett relayed.

Catlett theorized that the mean girl was suggesting she wasn’t attractive enough to make it as a content creator.

She then clarified that the brusque beauty is “not a celebrity” and  only has “a couple hundred thousand followers on TikTok.”

Turning insult into incentive, Catlett has a new mission: “I’m now hyperfixated on growing my account past hers just out of spite.”

In conclusion, and as something of a PSA, Catlett added, “The entitlement from these influencers needs to be talked about.”

It seems that spite has translated to followers, as Catlett’s video has now been viewed more than 3.5 million times and is decorated with thousands of comments that echo her outrage and pledge their support.

“OUT OF SPITE?! Say less. Followed,” said one commenter.

“She’s 100% jealous of you,” speculated another.

Influencer Haley Baylee added her voice to the chorus, writing, “That’s literally such weird behavior because there is enough room in this industry for everyone,” she assured.

Adding, “The reason we creators accomplish anything is because of the women who support us!”

Baylee doubled down on the goodwill, inviting Catlett to collab with her the next time she’s in NYC.

Many folks flocked to the comments section to remark on Catlett’s uncanny resemblance to Emma Watson.

“Hermione is that you?” joked one.

Unsurprisingly, several commenters begged Catlett to reveal the identity of the she-troll who shamed her.

However, our young gun Hermione maintains her standing as a totem of grace in the face of gracelessness.

“I know how frustrating it is that I posted this and won’t share who it is, but I will never send people to hate on someone on the internet,” she said.

Singer Kaylee Rose spoke to the spirit and spite in all of us with her wish: “I hope this video makes you pop the f–k off.:
