The retired NYPD detective accused of fatally shooting a hardworking dad in a burst of road rage on the George Washington Bridge last week was pictured for the first time – as he arrived at court Tuesday morning after being freed on $1 million bail.
Victor Romero, 62, wore a navy suit and tie, blankly staring away from cameras, as he entered Manhattan Criminal Court, flanked by his representatives.
The appearance comes a week after he allegedly shot Koran Irvine, 46, in the right shoulder around 7:15 p.m. Oct. 20 on the New Jersey-bound upper level of the crossing, according to cops and his family.
Romero was initially charged with murder, but his charges were downgraded to manslaughter — to the shock of family members and friends of the father of two.
He was ordered held on $1 million bail during his arraignment and posted the 7-figure sum Friday.

Romero had been working as a driver for the CEO of the multi-billion-dollar biotech and energy investment firm QVT Financial and was behind the wheel of the company’s Range Rover SUV when he allegedly fatally shot Irvine.
He was once hailed as a hero after he was shot and wounded while trying to stop a robbery at his family’s dry cleaning business in 2000.
