Travis Kelce went above and beyond when it came to picking out the perfect engagement ring for his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

“Travis is incredibly thoughtful. He had a clear vision of what he wanted,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “He did it almost entirely on his own. He knows her so well and what she likes — a timeless, classic, vintage touch.”

The insider further notes that Kelce, 35, is “very observant and in tune with” Swift’s preferred style.

“That drove his decision,” the insider tells Us. “He considered everything about what she’d like and want, and he paid attention to the jewelry she wears often for inspiration.”

Kelce ultimately decided on a bauble designed by Kindred Lubbock at Artifex Fine Jewelry, featuring an old mine brilliant cut diamond set on a gold band with smaller stones. The rock also has a thin bezel.

Swift, 35, confirmed on Tuesday, August 26, that Kelce proposed after two years of dating.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” she wrote via Instagram in a shared post, sharing a handful of moments from Kelce’s rose-filled garden proposal.

As seen in Swift and Kelce’s engagement portraits, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end got down on one knee and popped the question in a dreamy outdoor landscape. Swift, who stunned in a Ralph Lauren striped sundress with gold jewelry, appeared emotional in the snaps.

Swift and Kelce have been together since summer 2023, after the athlete lamented on his “New Heights” podcast that he was “butt-hurt” about not getting a meet-and-greet with Swift ahead of her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City that July.

“This was more, like, I was in an ’80s John Hughes movie and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox just being like, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to date me!?’” Swift recalled on the podcast earlier this month. “So I was like, ‘If this guy isn’t crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about what I’ve been wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’”

After hearing Kelce’s podcast plea, Swift privately reached out and the pair started dating. They made their public debut in September 2023, when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game. Now, she’s a fixture in Kelce’s game-day suite alongside his friends and family.

“I fell in love with it, [and] I became obsessed with it,” Swift said on the podcast of her newfound affinity for the game of football. “I became a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, ‘We drafted Xavier Worthy!’ My friends were like, ‘Who body-snatched you? What do you mean, ‘We drafted Xavier Worthy?’ I was freaking out.”
