At 5’0, I’ve always struggled to find pants that fit me without a trip to the tailor. For a while, I thought wide-leg pants would be out of the question for me. Between the long length and baggier fit, this style tends to swallow me up and look baggy in places I prefer to show off my silhoutte.

But I kept up my search — and I’m so glad I did, because I managed to build a collection of petite-friendly wide-leg pants. From on-trend denim to lightweight linen pants, I found an option for every season and occasion. And here’s the kicker: None of them had to be hemmed before I could wear them! Shop my 15 favorite wide-leg pants for petites below. Even the shortest of Us are able to embrace the trend with my recs!

Best Wide-Leg Pants for Petites

1. My Favorite: These soft, wide-leg pants are the ones I’ve reached for more than any other. They’re super comfortable and perfectly stretchy, with a wide waistband and pockets that make them feel more elevated and versatile. They’re available in a shorter inseam that makes these hit at exactly the right length.

2. Runner Up: I live in these linen-blend pants all spring and summer long. They’re breezy and lightweight, have an easy pull-on waistband, and they look good dressed up or down.

3. Versatile Find: These wide-leg sweatpants are buttery soft and stretchy, so they feel like sweatpants. But the faux fly, side pockets and wide waistband make them mimic the look of trousers, which makes them extra versatile.

4. Spring Staple: Made of breathable, lightweight cotton, these baggy palazzo pants are perfect for warmer weather. While not available in petite sizes, they have an ankle-length fit that actually makes them the perfect length for my shorter legs.

5. Downward Dog Fave: I love wearing these stretchy yoga pants to work out or take walks. They have a high waist with a more compressive feel that I love and deep pockets that make them more functional.

6. Lightweight Linen: These loose-fitting pants are made of 100% linen and are so easy to throw on with everything from a tank to a sweatshirt. I love that they have a slightly more slim fit through the legs, so they don’t look too baggy.

7. Best Jeans Ever: It’s hard to go back to traditional jeans after wearing these knit jeans. The cotton blend and elastic waistline make them feel more like sweatpants, but they still look just like denim jeans you can dress up.

8. Office Appropriate: I own these tailored pants in three different colors and will probably buy more this season. They have a more elevated look, feel and fit, and they work just as well for work as they do for a casual outfit.

9. Comfiest Jeans: These stretchy, straight-leg jeans are my most reached-for pair. The relaxed fit makes them baggy without looking too oversized, and the shorter inseam is just right for my petite frame.

10. On-Trend Denim: Some jeans are still a little too long even when I pick the “short” inseam. I love these high-rise jeans because they’re available in an extra short inseam that fits so well.

11. Casual But Chic: These striped boxer pants look and feel like a more stylish version of your favorite pajama pants. I find that the slightly cropped fit works really well for my height, too.

12. Lounge Essential: When I want to be extra comfy, these wide-leg pants are the ones I put on. They’re lightweight and super soft, making them perfect for lounging at home, but I can also dress them up a bit.

13. Everyday Basic: When linen feels too light, I grab these 100% cotton pants instead. They’re loose without being too oversized, and I love the hot pink option.

14. Cozy and Cute: I’ve always struggled to find sweatpants I’m not swimming in, so these wide-leg sweats are a favorite find for me. They come in a petite size, which is rare for sweatpants, and they’re as soft as a cloud.

15. Fun Flares: When I want a wide-leg feel but a slimmer fit, I love putting on these flared pants. They feel less restrictive than leggings, but have more of a compression feel that is so flattering.
