Jay Cutler will have to spend time behind bars as part of a plea deal with prosecutors over his 2024 arrest, Us Weekly has learned.

TMZ reported that the ex-NFL star (and Kristin Cavallari’s ex-husband) pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI. Per the deal, prosecutors agreed to drop the three other charges filed against Cutler.

The judge sentenced Cutler to four days in jail. He was ordered to pay a $350 fine, attend DUI classes, and have his license revoked for a period of time.

After his release, Cutler will serve one year on probation.

Back in October 2024, Cutler was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee, on charges of driving while intoxicated and gun possession while under the influence. The other charges included violation of implied consent law and failure to exercise due care, which TMZ reported was a charge brought over refusal to submit to a blood or alcohol test.

The ex-NFL star spent hours behind bars at the Williamson County Jail. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

Jay Cutler allegedly tried to flee the scene of his DUI and offered the other driver $2000 to not involve the authorities. After Cutler, 41, allegedly rear-ended another vehicle in Franklin, Tennessee, the retired football player attempted to leave the incident, according to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly. The victim also claimed that Cutler […]

The arrest report noted that officers were called out over an accident at 5 p.m. on October 17. The police arrived at the scene to find a car crashed into another vehicle. The report claimed one driver tried to pay the other driver $2,000 to not call the police.

The report said officers found Cutler at the scene. They claimed he slurred his speech and that they could smell alcohol on him. Cutler denied drinking before driving. He refused to take a field sobriety test.

An officer said they found a rifle and Glock handgun in his car.

As Us previously reported, Cutler and his ex-wife, Cavallari, went back and forth earlier this month about their divorce.

Cutler denied Cavallari’s claim that she didn’t receive a penny in their divorce settlement.

“Let’s think about this logically. ‘Not a penny,’ OK. Married for, I don’t know, seven years or so, three kids,” Cutler said. “You can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It’s online. You can see the contract from year to year and the total amount at the end of 12 years. So, you go to divorce and each side gets a lawyer and then you go to court and there’s a judge.”

Nuccio DiNuzzo/Getty Images The ruling on the field stands: Jay Cutler has faced some headlines ever since he made it big in the NFL. Before retiring from football in 2017, the quarterback was able to play 12 seasons in the league, primarily with the Chicago Bears. While Cutler earned his spot as one of the […]

“I think it’s reckless. I think it’s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got,” he added. “It’s insanity. It’s completely false, completely untrue. It is, it just is. I’ve got a divorce decree. I’ve got something that’s signed by the judge — it’s, like, 67 pages — it says the number breakdown.”

Cutler’s remarks came after the former Laguna Beach star spoke about her Uncommon James business on her podcast, telling her listeners: “I have never gotten a penny from my ex-husband. I didn’t get any money from our divorce, so let’s just clear that up. Thank you.”

Cutler and Cavallari, 38, wed in 2013 and filed for divorce in 2020. The exes share three children: Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9.

Back in June, Cutler spoke to Us about coparenting with Cavallari. “The kids kind of do it. We’ve got our schedule and it works for us,” he said.
