La La Anthony and ex-husband Carmelo Anthony have reportedly settled their divorce nearly a decade after their initial split.
The exes separated in 2017, though La La, 44, did not file for divorce from the NBA legend, 42, until 2021.
People and E! News reported on Wednesday, November 4, that a judgment of divorce is pending in the New York County Supreme Court after the exes hashed out an agreement to dissolve their marriage.
La La and Carmelo, 42, wed in 2010 but went their separate ways just seven years later. They briefly reunited in 2018, but by 2021, the Power actress filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
The exes share son Kiyan, 19, while Carmelo welcomed daughter Genesis, 9, with ex-girlfriend Mia Angel Burks in 2017 amid his split from La La.
La La and Carmelo had a whirlwind romance, getting engaged on Christmas Day in 2004 before welcoming their son three years later. Their 2010 wedding was documented on VH1 reality show La La’s Full Court Wedding.
In 2022, La La explained on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that Carmelo’s 2011 trade from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks was the “start” of the end of their relationship.
“I’m from New York, so being here is nothing new. When we lived here under all of that, that’s when things became complicated,” she said of the intense media scrutiny that came with the family’s move to New York City. “Now that I look back, that was kind of the start of the demise of the marriage.”
“It is really hard,” she added. “That’s not the only reason things didn’t work out, but things got tough with New York, just constantly being under the spotlight and people watching every little thing.”
A year earlier, La La reflected on her divorce filing during an appearance on The Angie Martinez Show.
“It’s been years now that we’ve [been] separated, so I’ve dealt with the emotions behind it,” the Think Like a Man actress said. “I still have my moments, but for the most part, I can talk about it now and laugh about it and find the humor in it all. Otherwise, I’d be a basket case.”
According to La La, she and her ex remained on good terms after their split.
“We started as best friends and I love that we still have that friendship,” she told host Angie Martinez in 2021. “We’re raising a kid together, there’s no drama with us.”
