A bloodied man staggered into a Brooklyn precinct and confessed that he believed he killed his friend during a “verbal altercation” early Monday morning, cops and sources told The Post.

The 58-year-old suspect, who has a whopping 16 prior arrests, turned up at the 77th Precinct in Crown Heights shortly after 3 a.m. with his hands covered in blood, cops and sources said.

The guy appeared to also have sustained several scratches.

He told officers he might’ve killed his friend during a fight and pointed them towards 207 Troy Ave., where the victim, 56, was found lying face up with several stab wounds in his chest and arms, according to police.

A pair of bloody footprints were observed at the scene and a bloody kitchen knife and scissors were also found, sources said.

The victim was pronounced dead at 3:27 a.m. His identification is being withheld pending notification to his next of kin.

The suspect was taken into custody and charges against him are pending, according to sources.

Sources also told The Post that the suspect knocked on the Troy Avenue apartment door and the victim opened it shortly before the attack, although it’s unclear if the victim actually lived there.
