Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly‘s recent trip to Costa Rica doesn’t mean they’re back together — at least not officially.
“Things feel back to ‘normal’ between them, but they are not putting a label on their relationship,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
The on-again, off-again couple were spotted flying to the Central American country with their baby girl, Saga Blade, in photos obtained by TMZ on July 22, eight months after their latest split.
“They’re still being intimate and technically trying to work things out to reconcile,” a second insider explains. “This trip is a big stepping stone in that direction.”
While the first source says baby Saga’s March 27 arrival “changed everything” for the pair, Fox, 39, is cautious about giving Kelly, 35, another chance: “Megan is very strong-willed and doesn’t want to give in to MGK and allow him fully back in. She’s standing her ground but, of course, still loves him.”
The Transformers star — who also has three sons, Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8, with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green — began dating the rapper turned rocker in early 2020 after meeting on the set of the movie Midnight in the Switchgrass. They got engaged in January 2022 but broke up last November, the same month Fox announced her pregnancy.
“There has been a lot of damage done,” the first source acknowledges, adding that “things change daily, and if he does one thing wrong, he knows she will write him off immediately.”
Yet, through it all, Kelly (real name Colson Baker) has proven himself to be a family man.
“Seeing him be with their baby girl has brought them closer together,” the first source adds of the “Cliché” singer, who is also the father of daughter Casie, 16, with ex Emma Cannon. “They are spending a lot of time under one roof, and Megan does let him stay at her house to help her with the baby. It has been a team effort, and he has stepped up.”
Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Fox and Kelly for comment.
The update comes four months after a source close to Fox exclusively told Us that there had been a “noticeable change” in the Jennifer’s Body star’s romance with Kelly since expanding their family.
“The baby is already wrapped around [Kelly’s] finger,” the source explained in April. “Megan has noticed his energy is different, the look in his eyes is different, his aura has changed. She feels the baby is exactly what he needed, and she is hoping it sticks.”
The source also praised the Dirt actor for being a “100 percent” present dad, adding, “It’s changed [Fox’s] mind a little bit about him and if there can be a future of them together.”
