Perez Hilton couldn’t help but get emotional as he shared a health update following his recent hospitalization.

“I’ve been crying a lot lately. I obviously am still processing everything that happened, but these tears are good,” Hilton, 48, shared via an Instagram video on Monday, April 6. “I nearly died. I was in the hospital for 21 days. God and my amazing doctors and nurses saved me. God presented himself to me in the hospital and then healed me in something I can only describe as a miracle.”

Back in March, Hilton spent 21 days in the hospital while battling Sepsis, a potentially life-threatening response to an infection that can lead to severe organ failure. He later detailed his health scare in a revealing 25-minute YouTube video.

On Friday, April 3, Hilton returned to the hospital for another surgery to remove a “massive” blood clot in his body.

Perez Hilton can’t hide his gratitude for his health after surviving several scares in 2026. Instead of gossiping about celebrity news, the self-proclaimed “original influencer” has spent the early part of the year documenting the ups and downs of his health as he received medical care near Las Vegas. “March madness indeed!” Hilton wrote via […]

“This whole experience has been the biggest blessing. God destroyed me more than once to build me back up stronger and better than before,” he shared. “Now, since I went through so much trauma, I have signed up, and I’m really excited to begin therapy this week. I’m getting somebody to help guide me through this alongside God.”

While the surgery to repair his deep vein thrombosis was a success, Hilton revealed in a separate Instagram video that his recovery won’t occur overnight.

Instead of celebrating Easter Sunday with a variety of activities alongside his three children, the self-proclaimed “original influencer” found himself in bed trying to cope with discomfort.

“Walking has been incredibly hard. I’m in a lot of pain, severe pain and I’m trying not to take any pain medications but the pain is 11 out of 10,” he shared via Instagram on Sunday, April 5. “They did my surgery on Friday morning on my stomach and the entry point was below my knee. The same area that hurt me the most was the same area they entered so if you want to send some prayers or just positive vibes that I get better soon and can walk without pain, that would be amazing.”

Hilton expressed confidence that he’ll be able to enjoy a delayed Easter celebration next weekend with his family.

Until then, he’s expressing thanks and gratitude to his followers for all the support they have offered during his health challenges.

“Thank you to my mom and sister for understanding that I can’t celebrate Easter today but God will understand,” he shared. “God is great. I’m on my way to recovery. I love you and I thank you.”
