Investing.com – Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Saudi Arabia, the declined 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the were The Mediterranean&Gulf Insurance Co (TADAWUL:), which rose 6.48% or 1.46 points to trade at 24.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Al Yamamah Steel Industries Co (TADAWUL:) added 5.30% or 2.05 points to end at 40.75 and Bupa Arabia for Coop. Insurance (TADAWUL:) was up 5.27% or 13.20 points to 263.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Saudi Research and Marketing Group (TADAWUL:), which fell 10.00% or 32.00 points to trade at 288.00 at the close. Al Mawarid Manpower Company SCJSC (TADAWUL:) declined 9.01% or 12.80 points to end at 129.20 and Saudi Cable Company (TADAWUL:) was down 7.82% or 7.90 points to 93.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 212 to 72 and 19 ended unchanged.

Shares in The Mediterranean&Gulf Insurance Co (TADAWUL:) rose to 3-years highs; up 6.48% or 1.46 to 24.00. Shares in Al Yamamah Steel Industries Co (TADAWUL:) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.30% or 2.05 to 40.75. Shares in Bupa Arabia for Coop. Insurance (TADAWUL:) rose to all time highs; up 5.27% or 13.20 to 263.80.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.70% or 1.38 to $82.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.45% or 1.24 to hit $86.65 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 15.50 to trade at $2,228.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/SAR was down 0.33% to 4.05, while USD/SAR unchanged 0.00% to 3.75.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.25.
