Mayor Zohran Mamdani was roasted in the season 52 premiere of “Saturday Night Live” hosted by Knicks MVP Jalen Brunson.
The cold open of “SNL” set at the Upper East Side’s Grace Mansion, featured Hizzoner portrayed by comedian Ramy Youssef, filming an “urgent message” for New Yorkers as the city braces for the impact of the looming nor’easter storm.
In the sketch, Mamdani is seen filming a TikTok video telling Gothamites to “shelter in place, y’all” dancing to upbeat club music, despite the severity of the incoming brutal storm.
President Trump, portrayed by James Austin Johnson, also made an appearance at Hizzoner’s home in the opener and pointed out that the two pols are both from Queens.
The cold-open came after Mamdani invited Trump to Gracie Mansion for a high-stakes huddle earlier this week, continuing the streak of love fests for the political odd couple.
“I’ve seen it with numerous different mayors, and I said some great ones and some not so great ones. So hopefully you’re going to be a great one. I’ll be able to say you’re going to be a great one, and you’re off to a start,” Trump said at a press conference after their meeting.
“SNL” doubled down on the chummy love fest, with Trump telling Mamdani he “missed my day one” in the sketch.
Johnson’s version of Trump went on to call Hizzoner “Mam-dreamy,” while reciting the iconic “Greys Anatomy” line, “pick me, choose me, love me.”
Trump’s infamous political aide, Natalie Harp, crashed the sketch, appearing rain-soaked from the nor’easter, with mascara running down her face.
Portrayed by Ashley Padilla, Harp said she “ran here from DC weapon style,” joking President Trump may have needed her for something.
Toward the end of the cold open, Mamdani tells Trump he has to “get back to work” and Trump insists that he stays with the lefty mayor because he “just love[s] hanging out with you.”
“Only if you give us $21 billion for a housing project in Queens,” Hizzoner demands.
“Are you out of your mind?” Trump quips.
“What if I follow you back on Instagram,” Mamdani suggests, to which Trump says, “It’s a done deal.”
