Melanie Chisholm had nearly all of her Spice Girls sisters at her recent wedding to Chris Dingwall — except Victoria Beckham.
“Victoria was very disappointed to not be there. She was with David [Beckham] in New York and it was the football final, the World Cup,” Chisholm, 52, told Australian’s KIIS 106.5 on Wednesday, August 5. “She tried to get out of it. She isn’t the biggest football fan, she won’t mind me telling you, but the family were there and David had commitments being an ambassador for FIFA.”
Victoria, 52, joined her retired soccer star husband, 51, and their youngest three children at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey last month for the 2026 World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. Across the pond, Chisholm married Dingwall in England for a second time. (The couple first exchanged vows earlier this summer in Dingwall’s native Australia.)
Chisholm and Victoria were notably members of the Spice Girls, alongside Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton, all of whom were present for the wedding.
Despite her absence on the big day, Victoria designed both of Chisholm’s bridal gowns.
“I was actually having dinner with Melanie and asked her what she was up to. She very casually told me she was leaving for Australia in two days and getting married!” Victoria told
British Vogue in July. “When I asked what she was wearing, she mentioned she had actually ordered one of my dresses but that it didn’t quite fit, and she didn’t have time to get it altered before leaving. I happened to have that exact dress in my own wardrobe and offered to lend it to her.”
Chisholm wore Victoria’s own Lace Cami Dress to the Australian ceremony, with the fashion designer also making a custom gown for the English nuptials.
“Victoria wanted to make it much more personal to me. She found some gorgeous vintage lace, and everything was really delicately dyed to the perfect shade,” Chisholm gushed to Vogue. “It’s very flattering, open at the back.”
Following the wedding celebration, Chisholm reunited with Victoria.
“I actually saw her when I was in Ibiza,” Chisholm added during Wednesday’s radio interview. “So, we had a little catch-up. So yeah, we were giving her updates and sending her pictures.”
She continued, “My feet haven’t touched the ground really because we had a beautiful weekend with all of our families and friends, and then I was in Ibiza, I was DJing and then having some fun.”
