Tamron Hall is shining a light on why she suddenly stopped hosting reunions with the Sister Wives cast.
“Fans of the show know that I used to host their reunion tell-all for four seasons,” Hall, 54, shared on the Wednesday, April 16, episode of the Tamron Hall show. “I, like millions of viewers, watched the family grow and change over time.”
Before bringing out Meri Brown as her special guest, the talk show host explained why reuniting with the TLC reality star was such a special occasion.
“I have not seen Meri since I hosted the last tell-all,” Hall explained. “I will be honest with you. I was told not to come back because some people thought that the questions were too tough that I was asking.”
Us Weekly has reached out to TLC for comment.
Hall proceeded to play a clip from a past reunion show where she asked Kody Brown about his lifestyle with multiple wives.
“How do you feel now that so much emphasis was placed on a legal document that — I know this is going to offend you — but it legitimizes one wife of the four that you have?” she asked.
Robyn Brown replied, “I am offended. I think if anyone could step into our world and see how serious our spiritual marriages are to us, they wouldn’t even bring that up to us.”
Before welcoming Meri, 54, to the stage, Hall admitted that when she first agreed to be part of the Sister Wives franchise in a small capacity, she knew very little about the family.
“Initially, I did not want to host that show,” she told the audience. “I was asked to do it and at the time, I said, ‘It’s a check. Done.’”
Overtime, Hall said she got to know the family and fell “so deeply in love” with the children.
When it was time for Meri to come out, she held back tears before describing the moment as a “happy reunion.”
“I am absolutely honored that you wanted me here, and I was so excited when I was asked,” Meri shared. “I wanted to talk to you. I always felt like I had a really cool connection with you, and I never had any issues with you.”
Sister Wives first premiered in 2010 and documented Kody’s life with three wives — including Meri, Janelle and Christine — and their combined 12 children.
Over time, family dynamics began to change with Christine, 52, leaving the family in 2021, followed by Janelle, 55, in 2022. In December 2022, Meri and Kody, 56, confirmed that they had called it quits after 32 years together.
“Life is not a straight line and sometimes, there are curves and things happening you don’t even know,” Hall said at the beginning of the show. “I have a lot of respect for Meri.”
