They couldn’t wait to hear, “You may now kiss the bride.”

Best friends turned newlyweds held out on having their first kiss until their wedding day — that took place earlier this month — and they don’t regret it one bit.

Kaytlin and Drew Brown are non-denominational Christians, meaning they identify with Christianity but not necessarily a specific branch of it. So when they started dating in early 2021, they both decided that they’d wait until marriage to do any sort of hanky panky-ish things together, including kissing.

“For us personally, we knew our top love language was physical touch, and in knowing that we wanted to be wise in our approach to boundaries,” Kaytlin told the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old told the outlet that she and Drew felt that “kissing could be a gateway that leads to physical intimacy,” so they swore to never sneak a smooch before they walked down the aisle together.

The duo went as far as never being alone in the house together, so they were never tempted to jump each other’s bones.

Kaytlin has been an open book on social media about the couple’s traditional decision, so with that came online comments from people in disbelief, saying she must have a lot of “self-control” and trying to tell her that kissing isn’t “the end of the world.”

“Bro fighting for his life rn,” commented someone.

“Girl that is your FRIEND of two years,” quipped another.

“I don’t understand how you can be in a relationship without any romance. Like what makes your partner stand out from your friends?” questioned another naysayer.

Yet, when the Brown’s finally said their “I Do’s” and kissed, the crowd of family and loved ones erupted into a loud cheer and applause — making the day the best one of the couple’s lives.
