Tom Holland made a rare comment about his marriage to Zendaya while poking fun at a romantic dynamic in their new film, The Odyssey
During a cast interview with Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson for Wired, Holland, 30, read a question off of a card asking, “Did Athena love Odysseus romantically?” Zendaya, 29, portrays Athena in the film, while Damon, 55, plays Odysseus.
Before anyone in the group could chime in, Holland answered, “No, because she’s married to me.”
Both Hathaway, 43, and Pattinson, 40, smiled, and Damon replied, “Yep. Good answer.”
Despite being one of the most beloved couples in Hollywood, Holland and Zendaya have managed to keep many details of their romance out of the spotlight. In fact, no official details about their wedding have been revealed and Holland didn’t officially confirm their nuptials until his Esquire UK profile that was published on June 16.
While speaking to the outlet, Holland was asked if he had anything to explain to his family when AI-generated photos of him and Zendaya circulated at a wedding. “No, because they were all there,” he responded.
Holland then made it clear that he wouldn’t share any more details by teasing, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
Us previously confirmed their engagement after Zendaya was spotted wearing an engagement ring on the Golden Globes red carpet in January 2025. Meanwhile, rumors that they had wed began to swirl in March when Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, hinted that the wedding had already taken place.
“The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” he told Access Hollywood at the time. “It’s very true.”
Three months later, Roach, 47, continued to share insight into the wedding when he was asked about the AI photos of Zendaya’s dress while appearing on the June 29 episode of Good Morning America.
“That dress was not good enough,” Roach said of the photos circulating online that were rumored to be from Zendaya and Holland’s wedding. “Trust me, the dress is better than that.”
After host Lara Spencer asked if it was “fair to say that the final creation did not look like that,” Roach said with a laugh, “Absolutely not.”
The viral images showed Zendaya wearing a white satin wedding dress that was complete with a fitted bodice, a draped neckline paired and a cascading lace-edged veil. The Euphoria actress was also wearing pointed toe pumps and a tousled updo in the fake images, and the look was accessorized with playful heart-shaped glasses.
Meanwhile, the fake images of Holland showed him wearing a black tuxedo with satin lapels, a white dress shirt and a black bow tie.
