President Trump lambasted “the left” for stewing hatred that fed into Charlie Kirk’s assassination Sunday while adding that “major investigations” into groups of interest are already underway as part of the murder probe.

When asked about lefty groups possibly linked to Tyler Robinson who’s accused of shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University last Wednesday, Trump lashed out at the politic point of view as a whole.

“The problem? Is on the left, it’s not on the right, like some people like to say on the right. The problem we have is on the left,” he told reporters gathered on the tarmac at Morristown Airport in New Jersey.

“And when you look at the agitators, you look at the scum that speak so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that’s the left. That’s not the right,” he said.

Trump added that investigations have been launched into “a lot of people that you would traditionally say are on the left,” as the FBI searches for a possible motive in Kirk’s killing.

He noted that the left has taken a twisted approach to handling Kirk’s demise, including praising the assassination online.

“We wouldn’t celebrate if something happened on their side, and we don’t. These are sick people. These are really deranged people,” he said.

Many people who have celebrated the murder online have lost their jobs or been removed from key positions.
