Boy Meets World had several prominent guest stars throughout the years including Shaun Weiss, Adam Scott, Linda Cardellini and more.

Scott, who has since gone on to star in several projects including the critically acclaimed Severance, starred in a four-episode arc as Griff Hawkins on the show in season 2.

While on the Boy Meets World set, Scott recalled an awkward incident he had with cast member Rider Strong.

“Literally this has been tugging at me for 29 years. … It was the season finale of season 2,” Scott told Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle on an episode of their “Pod Meets World” podcast in January 2023, explaining that the cast and crew were high fiving each other, but when he tried to congratulate Strong, he was blown off. “I go in and hug you and as I do that, you push me off and you give me this look, like, ‘Wait a second who the f*** are you?’ And then you run away.”

Boy Meets World became a family sitcom phenomenon during its seven-season run on ABC from 1993 to 2000. Created by Michael Jacobs, the show followed the life and life lessons of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) from home with parents Alan (William Russ) and mother Amy (Betsy Randle) to school with neighbor and forever-teacher George Feeny […]

While Scott said the incident was “horrifying,” Strong did not remember any of it.

“Are you serious? Why would I do that?” Strong wondered. “That actually doesn’t sound like me at all, ‘cause I’m generally a hugger!”

Shaun Weiss

The Mighty Ducks actor appeared as fellow nightclub guest Louie on two episodes of Boy Meets World in season 6, which aired in 1998. Weiss later recalled struggling with his guest appearance due to being “hormonal” and going through “puberty.”

“I gotta be honest — and I remembered the feeling as soon as the episode came on,” Weiss said on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in April 2025. “I was really — I don’t know how to say it — hormonal. Hormonal. The chicks on that set, Danielle, I mean … when you came into the room, my chemistry would change.”

Weiss admitted he was trying to “keep it together” around Fishel and costar Maitland Ward.

“I was just losing my mind … Basically I’m just bursting at the seams, Danielle, the whole time being like, ‘I gotta go to my trailer for a minute,’” he explained. “Yeah, man. It was just puberty. I remember that show reminded me of puberty watching it. I was just like, ‘oly man.’ Madness.”

Adam Scott

Scott starred as Griff Hawkins on 4 episodes of Boy Meets World in season 2, which aired from 1994 to 1995. While appearing on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in January 2023, Scott claimed that when season 2 wrapped, he tried to congratulate Strong, but he was blown off. Strong did not recall the incident.

“I’m so glad you don’t remember that because to some extent that means it wasn’t a traumatic experience for you,” Scott joked. “[You were] a little kid, and I was this stranger grown up. Again, I had no idea what I was supposed [to do]. It seemed like we were all supposed to be joyous and hug each other. Oh, God, it was horrifying.”

Linda Cardellini

Cardellini starred as Lauren, who becomes a love interest for Cory (Ben Savage) and a rival to Topanga (Fishel), on season 5 of Boy Meets World, which aired in in 1997. She was in three episodes.

“I was on Boy Meets World and I broke up Cory and Topanga,” Cardellini recalled in a 2015 Elle interview. “That was one of my very first jobs. I came in, and he cheated on his girlfriend with me. At the time I didn’t even understand the gravity of it — and even still people are like, ‘I’m mad about that!’ I remember a bunch of kids running up to me and yelling, ‘Homewrecker!’ and then running away. It was the first time I’d been recognized in public: a group of kids calling me a homewrecker.”

Marguerite Moreau

The Mighty Ducks actress appeared on two episodes of Boy Meets World in season 2, which aired in 1994. One episode featured Cory catching Moreau making out with his brother, Eric (Friedle), on their parents’ bed. Moreau later recalled how they were trying their best to be “grown up” about the intimate scene.

“I was excited to do the part, and we got along so well,” Moreau said to Friedle on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in February 2023. “So, I felt like you and I were there with all these grown men and maybe there were some females there but I don’t remember. And we were just doing our best to be grown up about it. I was probably also a little excited. But I was also like, ‘I hope I’m doing this right.’ I was also like, ‘Why can’t we figure this out? We’re smart. We have chemistry. We’ll get it.’”

Moreau added that she has “very fond memories” of being on set with Friedle and “probably blocked out anything that felt weird.”

Micky Dolenz

Monkees members Dolenz, Peter Tork and Davy Jones reunited on an episode of Boy Meets World in 1995. In an April 2024 interview, Dolenz shared his memory of being on the sitcom.

Boy Meets World was a big show at the time, huge,” he told Forbes at the time. “And right within our [The Monkees] demographic. And I, of course, had a long relationship with [writer/producer] Jeff [Sherman]. I was actually supposed to direct an episode of the show, which I eventually did. Peter, David, and I were already on tour at the time, without Mike [Nesmith] so doing the show just sounded like a good idea.”

Dolenz said their management got “everyone together and talked the other two into it.”

“As for a fond memory, that was a long time ago,” Dolenz joked. “Here’s what you can say: ‘They tell me I had a good time.’ How about that?”

Lindsay Price

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress appeared as Linda, Eric’s girlfriend, on one episode of Boy Meets World in 1993. The episode stood out on the show because Price’s character faced racial prejudice and addressed racism head on.

“I guess back then, too, I didn’t really think, to be honest, if I look back on that time,” Price recalled on “Pod Meets World” in February 2024. “I had been at it for so long with the exception of the soap, in which I played the cook’s illegal immigrant daughter who needed a green card. I was never asked to be a series regular. There wasn’t anyone on television of Asian descent who was a lead or series regular at the time. To get a chance to have a role with something to say and some meaning, especially this particular type of story, was really important to me.”

Price noted it was “awesome” that Boy Meets World “would write this story for kids to become aware of how we feel and treat others of different colors.”

Shane West

The What We Do Is Secret actor played Topanga’s love interest Nick in Boy Meets World during a 1996 episode.

“What a trip,” West told E! News in June 2021 about his experience on the show. “My whole point was basically to make out with Topanga. The show was big at the time and I did not know that I was the only person that kissed Topanga besides Cory. So there was a lot of flack for that and they re-aired it a lot and it became one of those things where people remembered it more than maybe they should have.”

Larisa Oleynik

The 10 Things I Hate About You actress starred on three episodes of Boy Meets World as Shawn’s girlfriend Dana Pruitt in season 3 and season 5. Oleynik later revealed that her first kiss was with Strong on the set of the sitcom.

“[Rider] was my first kiss, like, ever. That’s why there was so much tongue!” she shared during a “Pod Meets World” episode in January 2024. “All I remember of that entire experience, of the first episode at least, it was between the first and second episode of [The Secret World of] Alex Mack. I was a very young, 14 or 15 years old, and I was a very late bloomer. When things sped up, they really sped up. But at that point, I was a kid.”

Kristanna Loken

The model appeared as Strong’s girlfriend Jennifer Bassett on seasons 4 and 5 of Boy Meets World from 1996 to 1998.

“I wasn’t that familiar with it,” she said on an episode of “Pod Meet World” in April 2024 referring to how she wasn’t aware of what the show was about before getting the job. “I loved the Wonder Years with Fred Savage and I knew Ben was in the show and I was looking forward to working with him. I knew people that loved it, but then, you know, I got the firsthand experience.”

Candace Cameron Bure

Two years after Full House had gone off the air, Cameron Bure starred as a witch named Millie on Boy Meets World in 1997.

“I remember when they asked if I would feel comfortable and they asked me to do that part,” she said on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in August 2024. “They were like, ‘How do you feel about playing a witch?’ Well, I’m an actress. Like, totally fine. This is fun. It’s sitcom. It’s comedy.”

Cameron Bure said it “felt like a very safe place” to pretend to be a witch “because of what the show was all about in itself.”

“It’s a family show,” she explained. “So I felt comfortable in that way. But it was a little weird. I mean, I remember saying some of those lines now having watched. And I’m like, yeah, this doesn’t totally feel good.”

Melissa Joan Hart

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress made a quick guest star appearance as her beloved Sabrina Spellman character on the same Boy Meets World episode as Cameron Bure in 1997. During an August 2023 episode of “Pod Meets World,” Joan Hart revealed that she and Friedle had a short-lived romance.

“I was with you for, like, your 14th birthday or 15th,” Friedle recalled. “Remember we went to some place where it [had] those big tanks you could drive or shoot the tennis balls at? We went out for that, and we were, like, making googly eyes at each other. And by the end of the night, we were ‘dating.’”

Joan Hart laughed and said they called each other “a few times on landline,” however, they both moved on with different partners.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

The Party of Five actress, who was dating Friedle in the ‘90s, appeared on season 5 of the sitcom where she had to make out with her then-boyfriend as character Jennifer Love Fefferman a.k.a “Feffie.”

“Oh my God, I loved it,” Hewitt exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2024. “First of all, I genuinely watched that show. I also truly believe that Will is one of the best comedic actors, like, ever. So brilliant and so funny. So I was really nervous to be on it [because I was a fan]. And I remember very clearly thinking, like, ‘Oh my God, they’re going to think that I can’t act and I’m not funny.”

Vanessa Evigan

Evigan appeared as Kimberly on one episode of Boy Meets World during season 5 in 1998.

“I was looking back at it going … ‘That was such a great show,’” she said during a November 2024 episode of “Pod Meets World” after finishing her episode. “I loved it. I forgot how awesome it was and … I mean it was funny.”

Justin Cooper

The former child actor starred as Ryan, the son of Eric’s girlfriend Kelly (Nancy Valen), on a 1997 episode of Boy Meets World.

“It’s so interesting because with Boy Meets World, I have so many core memories with doing that shoot,” he shared on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in May 2024. “There’s a number of different things that would actually play a big part in my life later on.”

Kathy Ireland

Ireland starred as Alexis, a supermodel who inspired Eric to pursue a career in modeling, on one episode of Boy Meets World in 1994.

“It was an opportunity and it helped me pay some bills and I’m really, really grateful,” she shared on an episode of “Pod Meets World” in December 2022. “But I knew it was like, ‘Oh my goodness, what am I doing here?’ You were all so kind.”

Patrick Renna

The Sandlot actor appeared as Kyle in a 1996 episode of Boy Meets World, a bully who tries to make Shawn turn against beloved teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels). Renna noted that he normally “hated guest starring on TV shows” but since he knew Strong he “had an in” and it was “cool.”
