Wilmer Valderrama is welcoming a baby boy soon, and his 4-year-old daughter has one stipulation for her parents.
When the NCIS actor, 45, and his fiancée, Amanda Pacheco, first told daughter Nakano that she’s going to be a big sister, the little one was “excited,” Valderrama told Us Weekly exclusively. When her parents asked her specifically about having a baby brother, however, Nakano said she would only accept it under one condition.
“We’re like, ‘What do you want, a baby brother or baby sister?’ She goes, ‘I want a baby sister,’” Valderrama revealed at 2025 CBS Fest on Wednesday, May 7. “[We asked], ‘What if it’s a baby brother?’ She was like, ‘Well then, you have to buy me a kitty cat.’”
Valderrama said that he doesn’t know “if we’re going to go through with [the pet cat],” but that Nakano, who he described as “so funny,” is “happy” nonetheless. The That 70’s Show alum and Pacheco, 34, welcomed their daughter in February 2021 after dating for two years. The couple got engaged on New Year’s Day 2020.
“I’m just excited to see Amanda be a mom of two,” Valderrama gushed. “She’s an amazing mom. She’s incredible. She gets her mama’s boy, but honestly, [we’re] just hoping for a healthy baby and excited to upgrade the family.”
Valderrama is also preparing for the return of his hit CBS show NCIS, which concluded its 22nd season on May 5. The actor reflected on his character Torres’ journey this season, telling Us that he “really gave himself to this family — to this team — and devoted himself to not only protect those who serve, but also protect those beside him.”
“When someone hurts, Torres hurts,” Valderrama explained. “Torres is a little more unhinged than most. He doesn’t really follow Gibb’s rules, let’s just say that.”
In the season 22 finale, Special Agent in Charge Alden Parker’s (Gary Cole) father, Roman (Francis X. McCarthy), was found murdered. Valderrama hinted that the team may seek out revenge when NCIS returns for season 23.
“I think you’re going to see — not just Torres — a team that’s going to be willing to go rogue,” the actor dished. “I think our badges are going to go in a drawer at some point.”
NCIS returns to CBS on Tuesdays this fall. All episodes are currently available to stream on Paramount+.
