ABC is preparing for summer TV by releasing premiere dates for highly anticipated shows including Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro.
The network announced on Friday, May 8, the return of several game shows and the new DWTS spinoff hosted by Robert Irwin.
“Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro features 12 exceptional up-and-coming dancers who move into one house and compete in a grueling audition process,” the official logline for the show reads. “[They are] all vying for a coveted spot as a pro dancer on season 35 of Dancing With the Stars.”
After winning season 34 with pro partner Witney Carson, Irwin, 22, will be joined by pro Mark Ballas and his mother, Shirley Ballas, who serve as judges. Mark, 39, and his mom will be accompanied by a rotating panel of guest judges and mentors, including familiar faces from DWTS.
“For the first time in Dancing With the Stars history, the greatest dancers will compete for a spot as the next pro,” Irwin said in a trailer released in April. “This summer, let the fiercest dance battle begin.”
In addition to Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire are returning for more episodes. The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise and Dancing With the Stars have also been renewed for new seasons, but the premiere dates for these shows will be announced later.
