A Marine veteran and his teen daughter fearlessly saved six strangers in a car crash, helping to pull the trapped occupants from the fiery wreckage off an Arizona highway.
Casey Reinke, a luxury real estate agent, and his daughter Elliana, 14, were cruising down Carefree Highway Saturday night when a speeding car slammed into a pickup truck — and both vehicles quickly burst into flames.
Reinke didn’t hesitate to pull over and ordered Elliana to call the police while he vaulted out of their car and rushed toward the wreckage, the duo recounted to AZ Family.
Elliana flagged down other passersby — effectively creating a makeshift rescue squad in minutes.
“In the midst of the chaos, it almost felt like unspoken orchestration,” Reinke told the outlet.
Reinke extracted the driver from one car on his own, but others were trapped inside the pickup truck as flames licked at the bumper.
Together, the Good samaritans flipped the truck over and pried the five remaining victims out through its shattered windows.
Two women remain in critical condition from the blast, requiring multiple surgeries while they recover from severe burns, Fox 10 reported.
In all the chaos, Reinke admitted he completely disregarded his own safety.
“I was more worried about what would happen if we couldn’t do it,” he told Fox 10.
“It was really clear that our time was limited. We had to find a way to make it happen, and that’s kind of how Marines work.”
Survivor Jeffrey Johnson, who was traveling with his family, told AZ Family that they all “thank the Lord” for Reinke and the heroism of the other rescuers.
“To have a group of people that didn’t know each other … come together and make that happen in such a quick time — it saved lives,” Johnson boasted.
The car that caused the crash was speeding upwards of 100 mph when it slammed into the truck and punctured its gas tank, according to Johnson.
Responding firefighters told Elliana that her father’s quick thinking singlehandedly saved all six lives. Elliana, though, wasn’t the least bit surprised.
“My dad is that guy,” she praised on Instagram. “Proud of him.”
