Teen Mom 2 alum Kailyn Lowry has already weighed the possibility of signing a prenuptial agreement should she marry her new boyfriend, Isaac “Ike” Knighton.

“I think so [because] my last attorney had told me that if you have anything that is valued at more $10,000 or more, you should get a prenup,” Kailyn, 34, said on the Wednesday, August 12, episode of the “Unplanned” podcast, referring to her divorce from ex-husband Javi Marroquin. “Even if it’s assets, the mistake that I made in my divorce was not having a prenup.”

Kailyn and Javi, 33, were married from 2013 to 2017, during which period they welcomed son Lincoln, now 12. (Kailyn is also the mom of sons Elliott, 16, Lux, 9, Creed, 6, and Rio, 3, as well as twins Verse and Valley, 2, from other relationships.)

“We owned two houses at that time, and so, he was trying to take the one that I was living in,” she recalled of her divorce. “Iit was one of those things where, if, we had a prenup that wouldn’t have been a situation. It ended up all working out.”

Former Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry got real about why coparenting with some exes is easier than others. “It depends on the day,” Lowry, 34, said during her Monday, June 22, appearance on Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast. “One of the dads, we’re email-only. So we don’t do phone calls unless we schedule it. We […]

According to Kailyn, her and Javi’s attorneys eventually reached a settlement where each party retained one house.

Kailyn began dating Isaac, whom she initially met as a teenager years before welcoming son Elliott with ex Jo Rivera, in 2025.

“He does have his own stuff and so I wouldn’t ever want him to feel like I was going to take that from him,” the MTV alum acknowledged of Isaac’s financial situation. “I think that we would probably have [a prenup], maybe, we haven’t really talked about it.”

As for Isaac, he admitted to “Unplanned” hosts Matt and Abby Howard that he has “never thought” about signing a premarital agreement.

“It’s never crossed my mind ‘cause, for me, it’s, like, you get married for a reason,” Isaac stated. “I understand divorces do happen, but that’s not in my vision or even in my mind. It’s, you know, ‘Till death do us part.’”

Isaac, who has a daughter from a previous relationship, further stressed that he and Kailyn “are a team.”

“I’ve been in my fair share of relationships before. Not many, but my relationships were long. I look at it, like, ‘I don’t want to date,’” Isaac said. “I’m past that dating stage of life, like, I want to build and I want to create and I want to wake up to the same person every day, go to sleep to the same person every day. I don’t want a revolving door.”

While it admittedly took Isaac “a lot of maturing” to realize his goals, he was always upfront with Kailyn about his intentions.

“I just want one solid individual in my life, you know, sun up [and] sun down,” he said. “I told her actually when [she] and I initially got together, it was, ‘I want to learn and I want to see every phase of your moon.’ And, [I] still do.”
